In San Diego County approximately 6,500 youth and at risk teens are part of the foster care system. Each year, some 300 of them leave the system. After age 18 their future prospects are grim:

50% will end up unemployed
33% will require public assistance
25% will become incarcerated
Less than 10% will attend college
Only 3% will actually graduate college

Varsity Team Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides housing for at risk teens in San Diego County. At VTI we believe that every child should have the opportunity to achieve success and be provided with the tools, guidance and direction to reach their full potential.

Varsity Team Inc operates on these core principles:

Of our former residents that are now adults

52% are now gainfully employed,
13% are in the military
17% are college students.
